Contract Type: Permanent - 38 hours per week
Hours of work: Flexibility required between 6:00am – 6:00pm (shift length 8–10 hours per day), 5 out of 7 days

About the Role
We are looking to recruit a Hygiene Operative to join the team at Fazila Foods, Bolton. This is a key role within our food manufacturing environment, helping to ensure high standards of cleanliness, food safety and hygiene are maintained at all times.
Previous experience within food manufacturing would be an advantage, however this is not essential, as full training will be provided.
Here’s What You Can Expect to be Doing
- Ensuring food safety and hygiene standards are maintained in line with industry requirements
- Handling and using cleaning and sanitising chemicals in line with COSHH guidelines
- Operating tray washing equipment and carrying out manual tray washing where required
- Cleaning offices, canteen, locker rooms, toilets and other staff facilities
- Refilling PPE stations and chemical dispensers
- Managing the flow of laundry coats, ensuring all sizes are clean, stocked and available
- Daily cleaning of floors, walls and factory equipment
- Operating floor cleaning machines and other hygiene equipment
- Carrying out cleaning tasks in a range of temperature-controlled environments, including fridge and freezer areas
- Following company hygiene rules and PPE standards at all times
- Completing and signing off daily and weekly hygiene schedules
- Carrying out pre-start checks and ensuring health and safety compliance
- Emptying bins and managing waste streams, including cardboard recycling, general waste and food waste
- Maintaining a clean-as-you-go approach and demonstrating good manufacturing practice (GMP) at all times

- Basic English language and numeracy skills (essential)
- Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing
- A strong team player with a positive and flexible approach
- Willingness to work flexible hours to meet the needs of the business
- Ability to support different areas of the business as required
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced food manufacturing environment
