About the Role
We are looking for an Assistant Manager to support the day-to-day running of our bakery production department. You will lead a team of bakery assistants manufacturing a range of savoury products, including pies, sausage rolls and pasties, ensuring that production targets, quality standards and deadlines are consistently achieved.

Here is What You Can Expect to be Doing
- Lead, motivate and support the production team, encouraging high standards of performance and a positive working environment.
- Oversee daily production activities, ensuring targets, deadlines and KPIs are achieved.
- Support the training, coaching and development of team members.
- Monitor staff performance, attendance and punctuality, taking appropriate action when necessary.
- Ensure all products meet quality standards.
- Ensure production paperwork, traceability records and safety checks are completed accurately and on time.
- Monitor product labelling, ingredient weights, filling specifications, trim storage and metal detection checks.
- Ensure machinery is operated safely and production processes are followed correctly.
- Maintain high standards of hygiene, housekeeping and food safety throughout the department.
- Ensure all team members follow health and safety procedures, including the safe handling of materials and movement of equipment.
- Report accidents, near misses, maintenance issues and other concerns promptly.
- Keep the Manager and Supervisors informed of production progress, performance and any operational issues.
