Our client is a leading housebuilder with an impressive portfolio across Scotland. Not your usual KPI ‘number crunchers’ – they value quality and customer satisfaction above all. They are a very collaborative bunch and encourage all things new. You’ll definitely have a voice. They are currently recruiting for an Assistant Site Manager to support the day-to-day management of live residential developments. You will assist in delivering plots safely, on programme, to specification, and to quality standards, coordinating subcontractors and suppliers, maintaining site standards, and ensuring customer-facing finishes meet expectations. This role is ideal for a motivated and driven individual looking to develop into a Site Manager within a recognised housebuilder.
Key Responsibilities
- Site Support & Delivery
- Support the Site Manager in the delivery of residential units (houses and/or apartments) from groundwork through to completion and handover.
- Coordinate daily site activities, subcontractors, labour, and materials to maintain programme.
- Ensure plots are delivered in line with build specification, drawings, and NHBC/building regulation requirements.
- Assist with managing short-term lookahead programmes and daily priorities.
- Health, Safety & Compliance
- Promote a positive health & safety culture across site.
- Ensure compliance with company H&S procedures and statutory regulations.
- Assist with:
- Site inductions
- PPE compliance
- Toolbox talks
- Site inspections and housekeeping standards
- RAMS checks
- Quality Control
- Carry out and record quality inspections at each stage of build.
- Snag and de-snag plots to company standards.
- Support with pre-plaster and pre-paint inspections, final finishes, and plot readiness.
- Drive a “right first time” approach and reduce rework.
- Subcontractor & Supplier Management
- Supervise subcontractors and trades to ensure output meets quality and productivity targets.
- Ensure materials are delivered on time and stored correctly.
- Support in resolving site queries quickly to prevent delays.
- Customer Care & Handover
- Support in ensuring plots are finished to a high standard ready for customer occupation.
- Assist with plot handovers and working alongside Customer Care to reduce defects.
- Ensure presentation standards are maintained on completed plots and in show homes (where applicable).
