A well-established civil engineering contractor delivering infrastructure and public realm projects across Scotland is seeking a Site Engineer to support projects in Dumfries and Edinburgh. This is an excellent opportunity to join a growing contractor with a strong pipeline of work, offering exposure to a variety of technically interesting projects and clear career progression.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out setting out and surveying in line with project drawings and specifications
- Interpret technical drawings and ensure accurate delivery of works on site
- Manage and maintain quality assurance (QA) documentation, including ITPs and as-built records
- Ensure compliance with health and safety standards, including RAMS and site procedures
- Liaise with site management, subcontractors, and operatives to coordinate daily activities
- Monitor progress and report any technical or site issues
- Assist with site supervision to ensure works are delivered in line with programme requirements
- Support material checks and ensure all works meet required standards and specifications
Requirements
- Degree or HNC/HND in Civil Engineering or related discipline
- Previous experience as a Site Engineer within civil engineering or infrastructure projects
- Strong knowledge of setting out, drainage, and groundwork operations
- Experience working on public realm or infrastructure projects (desirable)
- Proficient in AutoCAD and surveying equipment (e.g. Trimble or Leica)
- Good understanding of QA processes and health & safety regulations
- Full UK Driving Licence
