A well-established civil engineering and infrastructure contractor delivering a wide range of projects across Scotland is seeking an experienced Project Manager to join their team, covering works across the East of Scotland.

Location: East of Scotland (multi-site role)

The Role as Project Manager

  • Responsible for leading the successful delivery of civil engineering projects from pre-construction through to completion.
  • Overseeing planning, design coordination, procurement and site delivery.
  • Leading and managing site teams, including Site Managers and Supervisors.
  • Ensuring all works are delivered in line with health, safety, environmental and quality standards.
  • Producing and maintaining project documentation, programmes and HSQE plans.
  • Managing budgets, cost control and overall project performance.
  • Maintaining strong relationships with clients, stakeholders and supply chain partners.
  • Administering contracts with a strong focus on NEC forms of contract, including compensation events, early warnings and change management.
  • Working closely with commercial teams to ensure projects remain financially viable and compliant.
  • Carrying out regular site inspections, audits and progress reviews.
  • Supporting and mentoring team members to drive performance and development.

About You

  • Proven experience as a Project Manager within civil engineering.
  • Strong NEC contract knowledge and commercial awareness (essential).
  • Demonstrable experience delivering infrastructure or civil engineering projects.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and stakeholders effectively.
  • SMSTS certification (essential).
  • CSCS card (essential).
  • Excellent leadership, communication and organisational skills.
  • Proactive and solutions-focused approach to project delivery.
