We are seeking a motivated and talented

Structural Technician to join our dynamic engineering team.

This role offers the opportunity to work on a wide range of projects in the civil and structural engineering space, with a focus on building structures.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare structural designs and detailing for building structures, ensuring compliance with UK engineering standards and regulations.
  • Collaborate with engineers, architects, and project stakeholders to develop innovative and efficient design solutions.
  • Produce high-quality drawings, models, and design calculations using industry-standard software such as Auto CAD, Revit, and other relevant tools.
  • Review and interpret technical designs and specifications, ensuring accuracy and practicality.
  • Assist in maintaining project documentation and records, adhering to company quality standards and guidelines.
  • Conduct site visits as needed to support the design process, ensuring alignment with on-site conditions and requirements.
  • Stay updated on advancements, trends, and techniques in civil and structural engineering to drive continuous improvement.
  • Contribute to fostering an inclusive team culture and encouraging diverse perspectives to enhance problem-solving and decision-making.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience in civil/structural engineering design, with a focus on building structures.
  • Strong technical knowledge of UK engineering design standards, codes, and best practices.
  • Proficiency in relevant software such as Auto CAD, Revit, Tekla, or similar tools.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in multidisciplinary teams.
  • Attention to detail and a passion for delivering high-quality work within deadlines.
  • Relevant qualifications in civil or structural engineering, or a related field (HNC/HND minimum, preferably degree-level).
  • Membership or working toward membership with a relevant professional body (e. g., ICE, IStruct E) is desirable but not essential.

  • Collaborate with team members to coordinate and deliver design documents and drawings.
  • Work closely with engineers and architects to refine project details and resolve challenges.
  • Utilize design software tools to develop accurate and efficient models and plans.
  • Regularly communicate project progress with clients and internal stakeholders.
  • Conduct quality checks on designs and drawings to ensure consistency and conformance with specifications.
  • Proactively identify areas for process improvement and make recommendations to the engineering team.
  • Engage in professional development activities to stay current with industry developments and technology.
