Our client is a well-established, people centric and reputable company specialising in the design, fabrication and installation of both aluminium glazing systems and mild steel staircases and balustrading. They put great store in developing and maintaining strong working relationships with Main Contractors, Architects and Consultants, and are about to embark on a high‑profile prestigious project based in Glasgow. We are currently looking for an experienced Site Manager.
Responsibilities
- Plan, deploy, monitor & report necessary resources (labour, materials & plant) for programme activities, including coordination with the Principal Contractor & interfacing trades at DABS meetings.
- Attend progress, safety, quality & any other meetings called by the Principal Contractor and represent Dane in a professional & courteous manner.
- Book site deliveries & crane hook time using the Principal Contractor’s online logistics portal, in conjunction with Dane Purchasing/Stores teams & suppliers/sub‑contractors.
- Maintain accurate & timely site records on Dane’s Project Information Management software.
- Prepare detailed task‑specific Risk Assessments & Method Statements for all site operations.
- Host safe‑start & toolbox talks in conjunction with Section Supervisors prior to briefing operatives before commencing works.
- Implement Dane QA procedures, Project Quality Plan & ITP & ensure (with appointed Quality Manager) QA checklists are completed at relevant hold‑points & accepted by Principal Contractor & uploaded onto portal.
- Undertake Right To Work/visa verification & skill/competence checks for all site personnel (via mobile app system) & arrange inductions with Principal Contractor.
- Raise Non‑Conformance Reports where applicable & assist in relevant corrective actions & cost recovery.
Qualifications
- Proven experience as a Site Manager within the cladding, façade, or external envelope sector.
- Demonstrable experience delivering projects for Tier1 contractors.
- Strong knowledge of rainscreen cladding systems, aluminium façade systems, curtain walling, fire remediation works and SFS framing systems.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.
- Strong understanding of construction sequencing and programme management.
