James Gray Recruitment is working with a leading multidisciplinary consultancy to appoint a Civil Engineer to join their growing Buildings & Infrastructure team. This is an excellent opportunity for a developing engineer to gain exposure to a wide variety of projects across sectors including defence, education, public realm and aviation. You’ll be involved in projects from early concept through to construction, supported by experienced engineers in a collaborative environment.

The Role

  • Contribute to the delivery of small to medium-scale infrastructure projects
  • Produce civil engineering designs in line with UK standards and codes
  • Design and coordinate drainage systems, external works and hard landscaping
  • Support the delivery of car parks, access roads and site infrastructure
  • Assist with planning submissions, statutory approvals and technical consents
  • Work closely within a multidisciplinary design team
  • Ensure compliance with quality assurance and BIM standards

About You

  • Degree qualified in Civil Engineering (or HND with relevant experience)
  • Working towards Chartered status (ICE)
  • Experience in infrastructure design including drainage, earthworks and external works
  • Familiar with UK design standards and industry best practice
  • Proficient in AutoCAD and Civil 3D (Revit/BIM experience desirable)
  • Experience using drainage modelling software such as InfoDrainage or Flow
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to produce technical reports
  • Proactive, collaborative and keen to develop professionally
