The Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Senior Electrical Engineer to join our MEP team. In this role, you will take the lead in delivering electrical design solutions for building services projects, ensuring that electrical systems are designed, installed, and maintained to the highest standards. You will be responsible for managing and coordinating electrical engineering activities, ensuring projects are completed efficiently, on time, and within budget.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the design and engineering of electrical systems for MEP building services projects, including power distribution, lighting, fire alarms, and security systems.
  • Conduct site surveys and feasibility studies to assess electrical system needs.
  • Ensure all designs comply with electrical regulations and standards, including IET Wiring Regulations and BS7671.
  • Collaborate with internal teams, contractors, and clients to ensure the successful completion of projects.
  • Manage project timelines and budgets, delivering cost-effective and timely solutions.
  • Provide mentorship and technical guidance to junior engineers.
  • Liaise with clients to understand their needs and provide tailored electrical engineering solutions.
  • Prepare technical reports and participate in project meetings, presenting clear and concise information.

What We’re Looking For

  • A degree in Electrical Engineering (or a related field).
  • At least 5 years of experience in electrical engineering within the MEP building services sector.
  • Proficiency in electrical design software (e.g., AutoCAD, Revit, Amtech).
  • Strong knowledge of electrical regulations and standards.
  • Experience in managing multiple projects and working under pressure to meet deadlines.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Chartered Engineer status (CEng) or working towards it is desirable.
