A well‑established civil engineering contractor delivering multi‑sector infrastructure projects across Scotland is seeking a Senior Site Engineer to support the delivery of works across a range of sites. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced engineer looking to take on greater responsibility, supporting site leadership while working on diverse and technically challenging civil engineering projects.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead setting out and surveying activities across multiple project phases
  • Interpret technical drawings and ensure accurate execution of works on site
  • Oversee and manage site engineers and junior staff, providing guidance and support
  • Manage and maintain quality assurance (QA) processes, including ITPs and as‑built documentation
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety standards, including RAMS and site procedures
  • Liaise with Site Agents, Project Managers, subcontractors, and operatives to coordinate works
  • Monitor progress, identify issues, and implement solutions to maintain programme
  • Support site management with planning, reporting, and daily operations
  • Ensure all materials and works meet required specifications and quality standards
  • Work across multiple sites, including periods of working away

Requirements

  • Degree or HNC/HND in Civil Engineering or related discipline
  • Proven experience as a Site Engineer or Senior Site Engineer within civil engineering projects
  • Strong background in infrastructure, groundworks, or multi‑sector civil engineering projects
  • Experience supervising engineers and managing site activities
  • Proficient in AutoCAD and surveying equipment (e.g. Trimble or Leica)
  • Solid understanding of QA processes, health & safety regulations, and site documentation
  • Flexible approach to travel and working away
  • Full UK Driving Licence
