An excellent opportunity has arisen for an Assistant Quantity Surveyor to join a leading main contractor based in North - East Scotland. Working as part of an established commercial team, you will support the delivery of a range of construction projects while developing your career within a well-structured and supportive environment.
The Role
- Preparing bills of quantities and schedules of works
- Managing subcontractor and material enquiries during tender stage
- Assisting with subcontract procurement, agreements, payments, and awards
- Attending project meetings and preparing minutes where required
- Supporting the preparation of valuations, payment applications, and invoices
- Re-measuring works from site measurements and drawings
- Managing and issuing contract variations
- Supporting the commercial management of contractual matters
- Assisting with monthly cost/value reconciliations and reporting
- Supporting agreement of client and subcontract final accounts
Requirements
- Degree qualified or working towards a qualification in Quantity Surveying or similar
- Experience in a commercial or quantity surveying role within construction
- Strong commercial awareness and budgeting understanding
- Good communication, negotiation, and analytical skills
- Ability to prioritise workload and support project delivery
