A client-focused payroll position within an accountancy practice, managing end-to-end payroll services for a varied portfolio of clients. You'll be part of a small, collaborative payroll team, delivering accurate and compliant payroll while building strong client relationships.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage end-to-end payroll processing for a portfolio of clients
- Process multiple payroll types (weekly, monthly, director, bonus, commission)
- Handle starters, leavers, and payroll changes
- Submit RTI reports and liaise with HMRC
- Manage pension processing and auto-enrolment
- Process BACS payments
- Respond to client and employee payroll queries
- Maintain accurate payroll records and documentation
- Ensure compliance with payroll legislation and keep up to date with changes
The Ideal Candidate
- 2+ years' payroll experience
- Experience managing multiple payrolls (bureau or practice experience beneficial)
- Strong understanding of UK payroll legislation and processes
- Experience with payroll systems (Sage 50 highly desirable)
- Strong organisational skills and ability to meet deadlines
- Good communication and client relationship skills
- Proactive and able to work both independently and within a team
