Payroll Manager

£35,000 | Permanent | Full Time | Office Based | Cumbria

JGA Recruitment are working with a well-established professional

services business looking for an experienced Payroll Manager to

join their team.

This is a fantastic opportunity for a confident payroll

professional who enjoys managing client payrolls, working

independently and delivering a high-quality service.

The Role

You’ll manage a diverse portfolio of client payrolls from start

to finish, ensuring everything is processed accurately, on time

and in line with current legislation.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Managing end-to-end payrolls across a varied client base
  • Processing starters, leavers, salary changes, tax codes and

statutory payments

  • Managing pensions, HMRC submissions and payroll payments
  • Handling payroll queries from clients and employees
  • Producing payroll reports and management information
  • Carrying out regular payroll checks and maintaining accurate

records

  • Supporting payroll system updates, testing and improvements
  • Working closely with clients and internal teams to resolve

queries

About You

We’re looking for someone with solid UK payroll experience who is

confident handling complex payrolls and dealing directly with

clients.

You’ll ideally have:

  • A payroll/accountancy qualification or equivalent experience
  • Experience managing a large, computerised payroll
  • Strong knowledge of PAYE, NI and pensions
  • Excellent Excel and general IT skills
  • Strong attention to detail and numerical ability
  • Excellent organisation and communication skills
  • A professional and client-focused approach
