The Role
As a CNC Laser Operator, you will be responsible for setting up and operating laser cutting machinery to produce high-quality components to specification. You will play a key role in ensuring production targets are achieved while maintaining the highest standards of safety and quality.
Key Responsibilities
- Set up and operate CNC laser cutting machinery in line with technical drawings and production specifications
- Load, position, and prepare sheet metal and other materials for processing
- Monitor machine performance throughout production, making adjustments where required to maintain quality
- Carry out routine machine maintenance and basic troubleshooting to minimise downtime
- Inspect finished components to ensure they meet quality standards and customer specifications
- Assist with fabrication duties, including grinding, welding, and assembly when required
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organised working environment
- Complete production documentation and report any faults or production issues to supervisors
About You
The successful candidate will have:
- Previous experience operating CNC laser cutting machinery
- Experience within a fabrication or sheet metal manufacturing environment
- The ability to read and interpret engineering drawings
- Good mechanical knowledge and understanding of manufacturing processes
- Experience with hand tools and measuring equipment
- Welding, grinding, or assembly experience (advantageous)
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work
- Good organisational skills and the ability to work independently or as part of a team
- Own transport, due to the location of the site
