A well-established, specialist workshop is looking for a skilled mechanic to join their team working on classic and high-value vehicles. This is a hands-on role for someone who takes real pride in their work and wants to build a career around classic cars. The Role You'll be carrying out servicing, routine maintenance, inspections and diagnostics, along with mechanical repairs, upgrades and restoration work. You'll assist with ongoing restoration projects, estimate labour and parts accurately, and maintain a high standard of workmanship throughout. The role is largely independent, but you'll work closely with and support the wider workshop team, keeping clear job records and communication along the way. Key Responsibilities Servicing and routine maintenance Vehicle inspections, mechanical fault-finding, diagnosis and repairs Working with the care and attention to detail that classic and high-value vehicles demand Accurately estimating labour hours and parts required for each job Assisting with ongoing classic car restoration projects Mechanical repairs, upgrades and restoration work Working to agreed estimates while maintaining a high standard of workmanship Working independently while supporting the wider workshop team Helping maintain a clean, organised and professional workshop Keeping accurate job records and clear communication with the team About You Mechanically skilled with strong general vehicle knowledge, including carburettor and ignition systems and vehicle electrics Proven ability to carry out mechanical and electrical fault-finding Comfortable working independently and taking ownership of your work Reliable, efficient and organised A good communicator and team player Comfortable working to estimates and agreed timescales A logical, practical problem-solver Genuinely passionate about classic cars, with a real interest in developing your knowledge further Full UK driving licence Experience with classic cars specifically is an advantage but not essential applications are equally welcome from experienced mechanics from independent garages, specialist workshops or main dealer backgrounds who are keen to develop their classic car skills. What matters most is practical experience and proven mechanical ability.
