Our client, a leading international Law firm is seeking a Payroll and Benefits Specialist to join their London-based Accounts team on a full-time, permanent basis.
Due to growth our client is looking to add a Payroll and Benefits Specialist to their team, where you will be responsible for the efficient and accurate processing of London payroll, whilst supporting the team processing London benefits as well.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Payroll ideally in a Law firm or a professional services firm, and have a thorough understanding of UK payroll legislation.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage the end-to-end payroll and pensions process for all employees, ensuring accurate and timely payments at all times
- Review and verify employee timekeeping, salary adjustments and bonuses before processing
- Be the first point of contact for all payroll-related queries and questions from employees, resolving discrepancies when necessary
- Ensure compliance with UK tax regulations and employment law
- Prepare and submit accurate payroll-related tax filings and reports to HMRC
- Ensure all employee payroll records are accurately maintained at all times
- Ensure compliance with internal controls and payroll standards
Key Experience:
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a Payroll position, ideally working within a Law Firm or professional services environment
- Strong understanding of UK payroll legislation, including PAYE, National Insurance, pension contributions and other statutory deductions
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team, ensuring accuracy and attention to detail are maintained at all times
- Proficiency in payroll software, eg SAGE or ADP
- CIPP qualification is desirable although not essential
- Experience with year-end reporting processes such as P60s, P11Ds
