Our client, a leading business in the IT sector is seeking a strong 2nd Line Engineer to join them on a full-time, permanent basis. Due to an exciting period of growth our client is looking to add a 2nd Line Engineer to their team, working closely with the existing Help Desk to support a broad range of clients with their technical faults and issues, both remotely and on-site.

The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 3 years’ experience in an IT support role, ideally working on and managing 2nd Line support requests, where you are used to working with users of all levels, providing a high level of technical and customer service at all times, whilst working on a range of day-to-day tasks and project work. Due to the requirements of the role candidates will be required to drive and have access to their own vehicle.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide a high level of technical support to a broad range of clients on both day-to-day support tasks and project work, both remotely and on-site
  • Be the first point of contact for clients
  • Act as the escalation point for junior Engineers
  • Solid networking understanding, including but not limited to WAN/LAN connectivity, routers, firewalls and switches
  • Knowledge of backup technologies
  • Work towards both individual and team KPIs
  • Ensure a high level of service is provided and maintained to clients at all times from the Help Desk team

Key Experience:

  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in a technical support role, confident working up to 2nd Line level
  • Good networking skills, including LAN/WAN connectivity, switches, firewalls and routers
  • Good MS365 knowledge is advantageous
  • Experience with Active Directory, VMware / HyperV
  • Confident acting as the first point of contact for clients, providing a high level of customer service and account management where necessary
