The Role
We are looking for three experienced SAPs to join us and take responsibility for the safe operation, maintenance and oversight of HV electrical systems up to 400kV. You will act as the key subject matter expert, providing technical guidance, operational support, and safety leadership to ensure integrity and compliance of critical HV infrastructure within the offshore renewables sector.
You will also work on implementing and executing robust HV safety processes and procedures across all sites, maintaining the highest standards of operational safety as well as supporting the company\βs commitment to technical excellence.
We are looking for a strong background as an Authorised Person, ideally on 400kV systems, and extensive hands-on experience in HV electrical operations, safety management and maintenance.
This role will be home β based with travel to our sites in Scotland, Midlands and London areas. The rota will be Monday β Friday and there will be a mixture of offshore and onshore work. We are ideally looking to split the sites between our SAPs depending on the location they are based, but we expect flexibility to travel to all of our sites when required.

Role Accountabilities
- Serve as a technical expert on 400kV high voltage operations and maintenance activities.
- Carry out 400kV SAP duties, including but not limited to outage planning, site switching activities, demarcation establishment, issue safety documents.
- Provide hands-on guidance, troubleshooting, and oversight to operational teams on complex HV system issues.
- Collaborate with SAPs and the Head of Engineering to ensure technical integrity and operational excellence of high voltage assets.
- Collaborate with project managers and engineers to ensure safe and effective execution of HV work.
- Support the monitoring and reporting on HV safety performance.
- Serve as an Authorised Person under the company\βs Electrical Safety Management System.
- Authorising Engineer supporting authorisation panels and associated training programmes.
- Ensure strict adherence to HV safety rules and procedures by operational teams.
- Provide training and mentorship to less experienced staff on high voltage safety practices.
Knowledge, Qualifications and Experience
- Hands-on experience as an Authorised Person, ideally on 400kV HV systems.
- Evidence of HV authorisation.
- Thorough understanding of HV safety management in the offshore wind industry.
- Familiarity with UK Electricity at Work Regulations or equivalent HV safety standards.
- Proven track record in HV electrical operations, maintenance and troubleshooting.
- In-depth technical knowledge of HV systems, including design, construction and commissioning.
- Understanding of how HV infrastructures integrate with renewable energy projects.
- Ability to diagnose and resolve complex HV issues and provide guidance.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Collaborate mindset and ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
