We are seeking four Site 400kV SAPs to join the James Fisher Renewables team. In this role, you will take full technical ownership of designated OFTO sites, providing leadership in asset planning and execution while ensuring safe, structured, and efficient delivery of all work.
As the technical lead on site, you will serve as the primary point of contact for the client on all technical delivery matters. Working closely with the Project Manager, you will help manage P&L and deliver costâeffective solutions. Throughout, you will champion HSEQ standards, maintain strong customer engagement, and ensure alignment with asset management strategies to achieve operational excellence.
What youâll be doing:
- Own technical oversight of the assigned OFTO site.
- Translate asset management plans into executable siteâlevel programmes.
- Ensure technical requirements are met across all activities, escalating risks or issues to the engineering team.
- Lead monthly reporting on asset condition, performance, and emerging issues.
- Write technical reports on asset issues for engineering review.
- Check NEDeRS and implement operational restrictions on a site level.
- Champion HSEQ standards on site in liaison with the HSEQ team.
- Liaise with the Operational Planning Manager to ensure resource availability and alignment with site plans.
- Interface with stores and supply chain to confirm tools, equipment, and contractor engagement.
- Perform SAP duties including outage planning, switching, safety documentation, and demarcation up to 400kV.
- Liaise with control centre, NESO, and wind farm operator safety coordinators.
- Act as Authorising Engineer where required, contributing to authorisation panels and training programmes.
- Provide training mentorship for SAPs progressing toward authorisation.
- Lead customer interface through monthly meetings and regular communications.
- Work closely with Project Manager for commercial oversight, including cost management and budgeting.
What weâre looking for:
- Advanced technical knowledge of HV systems up to 400kV.
- Ability to manage complex stakeholder relationships.
- Experience in budget ownership.
- Proven track record in HSEQ compliance and operational excellence.
- Significant handsâon experience as an Authorised Person on 275kV/400kV systems.
- Inâdepth knowledge of HV safety standards and UK Electricity at Work Regulations.
- Strong problemâsolving and analytical skills.
- Excellent communication and leadership skills.
- Ability to manage client relationships and lead technical discussions.
- Degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent preferred.
