A commercially focused Finance Business Partner, combining strong financial acumen with a passion for continuous improvement, business change and operational excellence. Partnering closely with Product Line Heads and operational teams, this position drives financial performance, enhances forecasting and reporting quality, and delivers meaningful insights that support strategic decision. Alongside core finance responsibilities, this role will be the key connect between the Finance function and the transformation team delivering the new ERP implementation. This role will help design, standardise and embed efficient, future ready processes and systems. A curious, detail-oriented and results-driven problem solver, they challenge established ways of working, collaborate across functions and champion innovative solutions that deliver greater efficiency, stronger financial discipline and long-term value for the business.
What you’ll be doing:
- Partner with Defence Product Line teams to deliver forecasting, reporting, revenue recognition and month-end activities, while driving continuous improvement.
- Support financial planning, budgeting and forecasting, improving forecast accuracy, reporting standards and financial discipline.
- Prepare management information, KPI reporting and financial insights to support business and leadership decision-making.
- Drive finance process improvements that enhance efficiency, controls and commercial performance.
- Provide Finance SME support for transformation and ERP projects, working with cross-functional teams to standardise processes and embed best practice.
- Support ERP process design across R2R, O2C and P2P, ensuring alignment with finance requirements, controls and compliance standards.
- Lead Finance data quality, migration and UAT activities, ensuring successful system implementation and adoption.
- Act as a key stakeholder in system and process design, improving cost accuracy, resource planning, operational performance and financial insight.
- Support change management, training and stakeholder engagement to drive collaboration and successful transformation outcomes.
- Some regular travel to Aberdeen will be required alongside occasional international travel.
What we’re looking for:
- Professionally qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA, CPA or equivalent) with a strong understanding of IFRS/GAAP standards and statutory compliance requirements.
- Proven experience in a Finance Business Partnering role, providing insight, challenge and support to operational stakeholders.
- Experience supporting ERP implementation programmes, from process design and configuration through to testing, deployment and go-live.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to simplify complex financial processes, implement effective controls and resolve data and system issues.
- Experience operating within multi-site, international organisations, with exposure to diverse regulatory and compliance environments.
- Ability to translate business and finance requirements into effective system, process and data solutions that support operational and strategic objectives.
