Join James Fisher Energy Services as a Senior Buyer and play a pivotal role in shaping the performance and reliability of our supply chain. In this key position, you'll lead and execute end-to-end procurement and supply chain activities, ensuring the timely, cost-effective, and efficient delivery of all supplier goods, materials, and work packages that support our energy projects. Working closely with internal stakeholders and strategic suppliers, you will drive best-practice sourcing, strengthen supplier relationships, and help deliver critical operational and commercial outcomes across the business. This role will be based in our Oldmeldrum office with hybrid working arrangements. Travel within the UK and overseas may also be required.
What you'll be doing:
- Manage end-to-end procurement activities, including ITTs, RFQs, and detailed purchase orders covering full scope of supply and deliverables.
- Provide operational support to Supply Chain, Operations, Projects, and Engineering teams.
- Work closely with vendors, subcontractors, and OEMs to ensure all goods are compliant, fit for purpose, and aligned with business needs.
- Monitor supplier performance, resolve material and delivery issues, and manage variations while proposing corrective or alternative solutions.
- Identify and deliver spend rationalisation opportunities to maximise value.
- Conduct new supplier evaluations, assessing strengths and weaknesses against requirements.
- Ensure all supply agreements adhere to formal legal terms and conditions.
- Contribute to annual supply chain savings and KPI targets.
What we're looking for:
- Strong experience in a supply chain or procurement role.
- Background in complex, fast-paced, cross-functional projects within engineering, offshore services, or similar industries.
- Strong commercial acumen with proven sourcing and contract negotiation skills.
- Good understanding of strategic procurement processes and techniques.
- CIPS Level 3 or 4 (or working towards) is desirable.
- Experience with ERP systems (IFS will be advantageous).
- Experience with CAPEX will be beneficial.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel and the full Microsoft Office suite.
