Join us as a Talent & Skills Development Business Partner and play a key role in shaping how our people grow and succeed. This is a brand new opportunity in which you'll design and embed skills frameworks, career pathways, and development approaches that enhance progression, strengthen talent pipelines, and support future workforce needs.

Working within our Talent Management Centre of Expertise, you'll bring our global talent strategy to life, creating practical, scalable solutions and partnering with HR and business leaders to deliver a consistent, accessible One James Fisher approach to development.

What you'll be doing?

  • Design and embed skills frameworks aligned to global job architecture.
  • Partner with SMEs and HR to reflect current and future capability needs.
  • Translate frameworks into clear career pathways supporting progression, succession, and workforce planning.
  • Ensure a consistent and accessible approach across the organisation.
  • Enable and coordinate development programmes aligned to enterprise priorities (e.g. early careers, product, engineering).
  • Align development activity with leadership programmes, skills frameworks, and succession plans.
  • Complement divisional training without duplication, focusing on strategic capability.
  • Support delivery, embedding, and impact measurement of programmes.
  • Lead development-related talent systems.
  • Ensure systems deliver a consistent development experience.
  • Partner with digital learning to align learning and development outcomes.
  • Contribute to integrated data and reporting for talent insights.
  • Use skills data to inform workforce planning and capability decisions.
  • Support a shift towards a skills-based approach to workforce strategy.

What we're looking for:

  • Strong experience in talent management, skills frameworks, career development, and workforce planning.
  • Good understanding of job architecture and skills-based progression.
  • Proven track record designing and delivering development programmes in complex organisations.
  • Confident using talent systems, data, and reporting to drive insight and consistency (e.g. Cornerstone, Dayforce, Excel).
  • Effective stakeholder management and influencing skills, with the ability to build credibility at all levels.
  • Experience leading early careers and capability initiatives aligned to business strategy.
  • Strong project management skills, able to manage multiple priorities and deliver to deadlines.
  • Skilled in data analysis and measuring learning impact to support continuous improvement.
  • Able to balance strategic thinking with a hands-on, delivery-focused approach.
