Project Manager - Product Development
Full-Time, Permanent
Remotely based with travel/office presence as required
Are you ready to lead complex, high-impact projects through the full Product Development lifecycle? Do you have previous experience in digital projects?
In this role, you will operate within the James Fisher and Sons Project Delivery Process, ensuring excellence in governance, financial oversight, and stakeholder engagement. You will collaborate with multidisciplinary teams across a dynamic matrix structure, applying robust risk and opportunity practices to deliver successful project outcomes. This role can be based anywhere in the North West England or Aberdeen with occasional travel to our offices.
- Lead and deliver projects independently across the full lifecycle, ensuring compliance with JFS governance and reporting standards.
- Take ownership of complex, high-value projects, working collaboratively and influencing multidisciplinary teams to achieve successful outcomes.
- Proactively manage risks and opportunities to optimise project outcomes.
- Control budgets, forecasts, and cashflows, ensuring timely invoicing, payment collection, and accurate revenue recognition.
- Plan and allocate resources effectively to maximise performance and meet project demands.
- Manage contractual obligations, review terms, and mitigate operational risks.
- Conduct risk and opportunity assessments, implementing contingency and benefits realisation plans.
- Capture and apply lessons learned to drive continuous improvement across projects.
Strong understanding of the Product Lifecycle with experience in new product development (NPD) within an engineering environment. Previous experience in digital projects. Proven ability to manage and mitigate risks on NPD projects. Experienced in project delivery within a matrix organisation, ideally in engineering. Influential and collaborative, building long-term internal and external relationships. Demonstrated safety leadership throughout project execution.
