The Role
The Workshop Welder (Technician) is responsible for the manufacturing, assembly and service of the company’s products as directed by the senior team. Key duties include:
- Supervision and training of Trainee and Assistant Technicians.
- Signs off controlled company documentation.
- Planning workloads and the delegation of tasks.
- Carry out all operational activities in a safe and reliable manner.
- Participate in the movement of materials through the workshop, from start to completion.
- Assist with the development of team’s skills and competencies.
- Keep clean and organise the workshop areas.
- Work with engineers to keep products up to date and help future proof products.
Who are we looking for?
You will need to be effective in communicating with others and efficient in responding to feedback. Confident and approachable, you will mentor the junior members of the team.
Qualifications & Experience
You will have completed a recognised apprenticeship or training program in a technical discipline to a minimum of a Mechanical/Engineering/Welding (MIG) NVQ qualification (or equivalent nationally recognised qualification). Recognised proven skills in a mechanical discipline, knowledge of Quality Assurance and Health and Safety within the work environment, and a proven track record in a manufacturing/service environment are essential.
This role is located at our Great Yarmouth, Norfolk location; therefore, you will need to live within a commutable distance.
