The Role
The Workshop Lead Technician is responsible for overseeing all aspects of mechanical maintenance work in strict accordance with company procedures and HSEQ policy. This role involves leading Workshop Technicians and personnel to adhere to company quality procedures and standards, while promoting a “OneTeam” culture and continuous development within the workshop.
Key Duties & Responsibilities
- Overhaul, repair, and test company fleet assets in accordance with industry best practices and company procedures.
- Ensure equipment is released fully function tested and fabric maintained.
- Drive technician completion of service paperwork and certification during the maintenance process.
- Lead, organise, coach, and mentor workshop technicians and personnel to promote personal development and raise standards.
- Drive workshop continuous improvement strategies and participate in QHSE improvements.
- Support workshop and QA managers in identifying areas of improvement.
- Promote and lead the use of mobile devices and smart software applications to work effectively and drive efficiency.
- Maintain a professional and courteous approach to colleagues and customers at all times.
- Maximise tool time and efficiency by motivating and influencing team members to continually improve and raise standards.
- Lead by example in delivering a flexible approach to overtime.
- Promote Scantech Offshore core values and “OneTeam” inclusive culture while freely imparting knowledge and ideas onto others.
- Identify areas to increase cost efficiency and efficiencies in workflow processes.
- Conduct PSSR inspections and participate in AIRs.
Qualifications & Experience
- Strong mechanical maintenance background with a high degree of technical proficiency.
- Completed a recognised apprenticeship or training program in a technical discipline to a minimum of an NVQ qualification (or equivalent).
- Experience in leading and mentoring a team of technicians.
- Ability to drive continuous improvement and efficiency in a workshop environment.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong problem‑solving skills with excellent attention to detail.
- This role is based at our Great Yarmouth location; therefore, you will need to live within a commutable distance to here.
