About the role

We are recruiting for a Production Manager to join our Team at JFD Global. As the Production Manager, you will drive the safe and effective execution of production in the relevant product line portfolio across the complete manufacture lifecycle, from point of order to delivery to stock.

You will lead a multi-disciplinary team to execute and deliver products that comply with JFD’s production strategy, governance framework and processes as well as meeting safety, cost, quality, schedule and compliance requirements.

As the Production Manager, you will be responsible for the following:

  • Lead the Production department, ensuring adherence to the strategy, governance framework, systems, processes and other regulatory compliance requirements.
  • Direct management of the production team including managing the departments budget and resourcing accordingly to meet business
  • Responsible for the overall administration and creation of Work Orders (WO) using the provided MRP system (G2) and the planning and reporting function for Product supply and major projects with a focus on cost and time to complete (forecast and budget)
  • Responsible for the production execution budget, ensuring the cost of manufacturing is within the allocated budget and all product deliverables are completed as per the assigned schedule.
  • Accountable for maintaining departmental reports such as the production schedule, resource & capacity planning, performance reporting and corrective action status.
  • To maximise best use of the ERP system, by maintaining an efficient production control department, providing work instructions, certification and maintaining traceability records.
  • Champion continuous improvement within the department, driving a Lean culture and performance, supported by robust performance monitoring.
  • Work with Supply Chain team to ensure supply chain inputs to our products are sustainable, competitive, innovative, timely and compliant.
  • Work with engineering team to ensure our production outputs drive cost competitive solutions using a variety of advanced manufacturing methods.
  • Ensure health, safety, environment, sustainability and security objectives are achieved, with direct responsibility for safety of the production team and the safe assembly, validation and certification of our products for customers and other stakeholders.
  • Ensure compliance with all legal and regulatory requirements, supported by Legal & Compliance and HSEQS departments.
  • Liaise with Global sites to assist with management of MRP system to best suit production activities.

What do you need?

Knowledge, Qualifications and Experience

  • Degree in Engineering/Manufacturing or equivalent qualification
  • High level of leadership and management experience.
  • Lean training is desirable but not essential.
  • Prior experience as Production Manager
  • Knowledge of MRP systems (G2)
  • Experienced in risk and mitigation management.
  • Experience of the Subsea, Defence or Maritime sector (desirable)
  • Setting and delivering medium and long term strategy, budget and resource plans
  • Ability to assess project risks and understand associated contingencies
  • Strong Computer skills, specifically Microsoft Office Suite with advanced Excel capabilities
  • Have excellent communications skills and capacity to communicate effectively at all levels and with international clients and stakeholders
