Full-Time, 18 Months FTC Inchinnan, Hybrid working. Please note that this role requires SC clearance. We are seeking an experienced Supply Chain Manager to join us on an 18‑month fixed‑term contract, leading and managing all supply chain and procurement activities in support of key service contracts. This role is critical to ensuring the timely, cost‑effective and compliant delivery of subcontracted services, materials and equipment.
Working closely with operational teams, you will drive supplier performance, proactively mitigate supply chain risk, and ensure full alignment with contractual requirements, budgets and JFD’s supply chain strategy.
Responsibilities
- Manage end‑to‑end procurement activities for service contracts, including RFQs, tendering, purchase orders and contract placement for services, equipment and materials.
- Act as the primary supply chain point of contact for service delivery teams, collaborating closely with Project Management, Engineering, Operations and Finance.
- Ensure all procurement activity complies with contractual obligations, customer requirements, internal governance and group supply chain policies.
- Proactively identify, manage and mitigate supply chain risks impacting cost, schedule or service delivery.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers and subcontractors.
- Support supplier performance reviews, monitoring service levels, quality, delivery and commercial commitments.
- Identify opportunities for cost reduction, efficiency improvements and supplier rationalisation.
- Ensure accurate, timely procurement documentation in line with audit and compliance requirements.
- Contribute to the development and implementation of supply chain strategies, processes and standard ways of working.
- Provide reporting and management information on procurement performance, supplier issues, risks and savings.
Essential Qualifications
- Extensive experience in a supply chain or procurement role, ideally supporting service contracts or complex engineering programmes.
- Strong knowledge of procurement and subcontract management within regulated engineering, defence or manufacturing environments.
- Proven ability to manage suppliers, negotiate commercial terms and drive performance improvement.
- Experience identifying and mitigating supply chain risks affecting delivery, cost or schedule.
- Strong commercial awareness, balancing cost, risk and operational priorities.
- Proficient in ERP systems and Microsoft Office.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with stakeholders.
- Self‑motivated, adaptable and able to work independently in a fast‑paced environment.
Desirable Qualifications
- CIPS qualification or working towards.
- Experience in continuous improvement or lean supply chain practices.
- Exposure to defence or highly regulated service environments.
