James Fisher and Sons plc is seeking a talented Simulation & Modelling Manager to lead our advanced modelling and simulation group across various projects within our divisions. This full-time, permanent role is based in Aberdeen or Glasgow.

The Role

This leadership role involves managing a team of engineers and scientists, overseeing the development of simulation models, ensuring their accuracy, and integrating these tools into project workflows to support decision-making and reduce development time.

Responsibilities

• Lead development and implementation of multi-physics simulation models (acoustic, CFD, FEA, EMC, Electronics).
• Manage and mentor a team of engineers and scientists.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to meet project requirements.
• Ensure rigorous testing, validation, and documentation of simulation models.
• Analyze results and provide actionable insights.
• Stay updated on latest simulation technologies and methodologies.
• Present findings to senior management and stakeholders.
• Manage project timelines, budgets, and resources effectively.

Required Skills and Experience

• Bachelor\’s or master\’s degree in engineering, Computer Science, Applied Mathematics, or related fields.
• Proficiency in simulation software and programming languages such as MATLAB, Simulink, Python, C++.
• Knowledge of machine learning and data analytics.
• Extensive experience with ANSYS FEA and CFD or similar tools.
• Proven leadership in technical teams and project management.
• Strong analytical, communication, and collaboration skills.
