The predicted salary is between 13 - 16 £ per hour.

Part time, 20 hours per week. Can be based in either Westhill, Aberdeen or Inchinnan, Glasgow.

The Engineering Resource Planner is responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining effective resource planning and allocation processes across the engineering function. This role will ensure visibility of engineering resource requirements, resource utilisation is transparent, and the forward-looking workforce needs are clearly communicated. The postholder will also lead the set-up and continuous improvement of the organisation’s engineering resource management and communication processes, supporting effective decision-making and operational delivery.

Key Duties And Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain engineering resource plans, ensuring accurate allocation of personnel to meet project and organisational priorities.
  • Coordinate with project managers, engineering leads, and functional stakeholders to understand short- and long-term resource requirements including bid work.
  • Use planning tools (P6) to build and update resource forecasts, identify gaps or conflicts, and propose mitigation strategies.
  • Establish, implement, and refine resource management processes, dashboards, and communication practices to improve visibility, consistency, and efficiency.
  • Monitor resource utilisation and performance data, providing regular reports and insights to senior management.
  • Support portfolio-level planning activities, including demand forecasting, scenario modelling, and capacity planning.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives related to resource planning, scheduling, and communication workflows.
  • Ensure alignment with governance, quality, and compliance requirements across all resource planning activities.

Key Skills, Knowledge And Experience

  • Experience in resource management and workforce planning.
  • Experience using and taking ownership of resource management software.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel and comfortable working with planning or data-driven systems.
  • P6 experience would be a distinct advantage.

You will need excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder-management abilities along with being highly organised with strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities. You will need to be able to pass security clearance for this role and be a UK resident.
