As our Product Manager, you will lead the strategy and lifecycle of a groundbreaking portfolio that powers critical communication, energy, and surveillance systems beneath the ocean’s surface. The role will be remotely based with travel within the UK as well as internationally.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Lead market, customer, and stakeholder research across offshore and subsea sectors, identifying emerging needs, regulatory drivers, and key technology trends.
  • Act as the primary customer, government, and defence interface, ensuring product direction aligns with national and energy security priorities.
  • Own and refine the value proposition for advanced subsea technologies, clearly communicating operational, commercial, and customer value.
  • Translate complex technical capabilities into clear customer outcomes, requirements, and concepts of operations.
  • Develop and deliver a balanced roadmap for new systems, enhancements, and upgrades across subsea pipelines, cables, and sensor networks.
  • Lead cross‑functional teams through build‑versus‑buy decisions and ensure compliance with maritime, energy, and defence standards.
  • Embed resilience and security by design, including layered protection, stress testing, and continuity planning.
  • Develop pricing models and commercial frameworks supporting strong business cases and ROI.
  • Position solutions effectively across commercial, government, and defence markets.
  • Support go‑to‑market plans with deep product, technical, and market insight.
  • Enable sales with clear messaging, competitive intelligence, and support on complex bids.
  • Lead product and upgrade launches, coordinating across engineering, operations, marketing, and sales.
  • Monitor post‑launch performance and drive continuous product improvements.

What we're looking for

  • Background in product management or systems engineering within maritime, subsea, offshore energy, telecoms, or defence.
  • Proven end‑to‑end product lifecycle leadership.
  • Experience in regulated, safety‑critical, or security‑sensitive environments.
  • Experience/involvement in complex bids, programmes, and multi‑stakeholder opportunities.
  • Eligible for national security clearance.
  • Strong understanding of subsea systems (ROVs/AUVs, fibre‑optic cables, telecoms, sensors, power).
  • Knowledge of digital and AI/ML‑enabled monitoring and maintenance solutions.
  • Familiarity with maritime regulations, safety standards, and cybersecurity frameworks.
  • Awareness of national security, energy security, and energy transition impacts on subsea infrastructure.
  • Entrepreneurial, able to turn ideas into deliverable products.
  • Ability to define product strategy and long‑term roadmaps.
  • Strong requirements and value‑definition skills.
  • Commercial acumen in business cases, pricing, and ROI.
  • Effective cross‑functional leadership and influence.
