We are looking for an experienced Group Treasury Manager to join the James Fisher and Sons treasury team. In this role, you will lead the day-to-day treasury activities, ensuring smooth operations while managing key components of financial risk. You will play a pivotal part in a broad range of treasury matters, driving multiple concurrent work streams and delivering strategic impact across the business.

This position offers exposure to risk management across liquidity, financial, currency, interest rate, and credit risks, as well as involvement in commercial business activities and project work, making it an exciting opportunity for someone who thrives in a fast‑paced, multinational environment. The role can be based anywhere in the North West, with occasional office attendance and the ability to travel to our London and Barrow‑in‑Furness locations as required.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Develop and implement strategies for liquidity modelling, cash management, and financial risk monitoring (including liquidity, currency, interest rate, and credit risks).
  • Identify and analyse risks, proposing and executing hedging strategies in line with Group Treasury Policy.
  • Deliver accurate forecasting and financial reporting to senior management.
  • Collaborate with business units to understand and manage currency risks on transactions.
  • Drive continuous improvement through variance analysis and process enhancements.
  • Lead cross‑functional initiatives to achieve Treasury objectives and provide leadership within the team to foster development and improvement.
  • Maintain robust internal controls and oversee Treasury policies, standards, and procedures.
  • Manage the risk register and support development of risk policies and limits.
  • Contribute to key projects, including process automation and the design and implementation of a Treasury Management System.

  • Previous experience in a Treasury function in a complex, multinational environment.
  • Experience in treasury risk management.
  • AMCT or equivalent recognised Treasury qualification.
  • ACA /ACCA accountancy qualifications desirable.
  • Team management experience.
  • Good IT skills, particularly Microsoft Excel.
  • Broad understanding of the Treasury function.
