The Opportunity
We have an exciting opportunity within the JFD Engineering Team for an Embedded Systems Architect to support the development of safety critical systems for diving applications. The successful candidate will be joining a team focused on the development of electronically controlled breathing apparatus (electronics, firmware, software, verification and validation). The successful candidate will be working on a project that includes functions that must be certified against the safety standard IEC 61508 and the industry diving equipment standard EN14143. The role will be at all levels of the project from architecture to implementation and require skills and knowledge to ensure the successful completion including full certification.
Key Accountabilities
- Design and develop embedded systems architecture to meet performance, reliability and compliance requirements
- Lead and mentor team in implementation of embedded systems for safety critical applications
- Collaborate with cross functional team to ensure compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements
- Analyse system requirements and convert to technical specifications
- Adherence to engineering and company standards and processes. Site visits to other JFD offices and client assets as and when required.
Skills, Experience And Qualifications
- Computer Science / Software / Electronic Engineering or equivalent Degree.
- Demonstrated experience in embedded software and hardware development for safety critical applications (STM32 microcontroller and ANSYS SCADE)
- Demonstrated experience in hardware and software certification to IEC61508
- Demonstrated experience in software development lifecycle with full verification and validation
- Demonstrated experience using requirements management tool (Jama, DOORS or equivalent)
- Demonstrated experience conducting code reviews and providing technical guidance
- Ability to obtain SC level security clearance essential.
