About the role:
To provide engineering design solutions and support for the JFD product range throughout its lifecycle.
Work may involve designing new products to meet client or internal specifications or supporting upgrades and modifications to existing equipment in the field.
Principle Accountabilities:
- Provide engineering design input for new products and support existing products by addressing technical queries and offering solutions.
- Collaborate with internal departments such as sales, procurement, and production to ensure optimal technical solutions.
- Source components and materials, create part numbers, and develop bills of materials.
- Develop engineering documentation including specifications, proposals, assembly instructions, test procedures, and certification reports.
- Review electrical drawings and documentation for accuracy, compliance with standards, and adherence to company processes.
- Ensure projects are delivered on time and within budget.
- Conduct site visits to client assets and other JFD offices as required.
- Serve as a technical checker for drawings and documentation supporting the Electrical Engineer role.

Qualifications and Experience:
- Experience in a similar role.
- An electrical and electronics engineering degree or equivalent industry experience.
- Proven skills in electronics design.
- Knowledge of PCB schematic capture and layout, preferably using Altium Designer.
- Experience with embedded circuit design (e.g., STM32) and software development.
- Proficiency with engineering design software and CAD tools.
- Understanding of design standards and product lifecycle management systems.
- Experience working to marine, defence standards, and class society rules (mainly LR and DNV).
Candidates must be able to pass security clearance and have the right to work in the UK.
