Permanent part‑time role (20 hours per week) based in Barrow‑in‑Furness, Cumbria – hybrid work (3 days a week) with a requirement to live within a commutable distance.
Responsibilities
- Manage day‑to‑day accounts payable administration, including review and approval of personal and credit card expenses prior to management approval.
- Complete supplier statement reconciliations and communicate with suppliers and employees to resolve queries.
- Work closely with finance and non‑finance employees at all levels within the organisation.
- Follow best practice AP process, ensuring invoices are processed in a timely manner for on‑time supplier payments.
- Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures.
- Identify issues and report to Group SS AP Manager.
- Use a solution‑focused approach to problems, including root‑cause analysis of P2P problem areas.
- Collaborate with Treasury, Internal Controls and Tax teams.
- Assist Group & Shared Service AR Manager with supplier sanction and credit checks.
- Reconcile supplier statements and comment on creditor ageing.
- Execute supplier payments in line with P2P standards, processes and DOA.
- Process expenses and credit cards.
- Provide information for group external and internal auditors as required.
- Oversee end‑to‑end P2P process: set up supplier, 3‑way match, statement reconciliation, invoice processing, and payment.
- Process supplier invoices and generate, review and upload payments.
- Complete supplier set‑up and due diligence to mitigate risks.
Qualifications & Experience
- Experience of AP processing.
- Hands‑on approach and willingness to participate in training.
- Experience supporting multiple stakeholders at various levels.
- Experience following a process and suggesting ideas for development/improvement.
- Ideally, experience in or with a shared service centre within a group setting.
