We’re looking for a Warehouse & Yard Shunter to play a vital role in keeping our production and dispatch operations running without interruption. What you’ll be doing
- You’ll be at the centre of our site operations, ensuring trailers, containers, and vehicles are moved safely and efficiently to support production and customer deliveries.
- Your key responsibilities will include:
- Safely moving trailers between loading bays, parking areas, and site locations
- Positioning vehicles accurately to enable efficient loading and unloading
- Carrying out vehicle checks and ensuring all equipment is safe and compliant
- Coupling and uncoupling trailers correctly and securely
- Working closely with FLT operators, warehouse teams, and drivers
- Supporting dispatch schedules by ensuring the right trailers are in the right place at the right time
- Monitoring trailer condition and reporting defects
- Maintaining high standards of yard housekeeping and safety
- Completing all required documentation and system updates accurately
- You’ll play a key role in keeping everything flowing – minimising delays and ensuring our customers receive their products on time.
What we’re looking for
- We’re looking for someone who combines technical skill with a strong safety mindset:
- Full UK Driving Licence and HGV Class 1 Licence
- Experience in a warehouse, yard, logistics or manufacturing environment
- Confidence operating vehicles in tight spaces with excellent spatial awareness
- Strong communication skills and ability to follow processes
- Previous shunting experience
- Just as importantly, you’ll be someone who:
- Takes pride in doing things safely and correctly
- Works well as part of a team
- Proactively identifies and reports risks or issues
