A career in Turnaround, Restructuring, and Insolvency will provide a great deal of variety. You will have exposure to many different industries, sizes of business and entrepreneurs. You will benefit from a close working relationship with senior members of the team providing you with high quality on the job training.

The Role:

For formal insolvency appointments, assisting partners, directors and managers with;

  • Preparing documents of appointment for insolvency appointments for review,
  • Assisting with the preparation of financial reports including declarations of solvency, statement of affairs, estimated outcome statements and receipts and payment accounts,
  • Preparing documents to be sent to Companies House, creditors and members,
  • Assist with the control of ongoing trading in administration assignments including negotiating with suppliers, dealing with customer queries, and staff matters. This may involve your attendance at site.
  • Collection and logging of company records
  • Assisting with the preparation of progress reports, and final reports,
  • Assisting with the investigation into the conduct of directors,
  • Assisting employees making claims for arrears of wages, redundancy pay etc,
  • Assisting with the sale of assets,
  • Analysis and collection of book debts,
  • Dealing with creditor queries, then agreeing and paying claims,
  • Assisting with the completion of insurance questionnaires
  • Preparing tax returns including VAT, Corporation Tax, RTI and liaising with councils over council tax / business rates
  • Preparation of receipts and payments vouchers to maintain estate accounts, for our cashiering teams to process,
  • Ensuring that key targets are met as per the cases' diaries

The Person will:

  • Be eager to learn about business and the causes of business failure, and be willing to learn new skills
  • Will be both literate and numerate
  • Be familiar with Word, Excel and Outlook, and have the ability to adapt to unfamiliar packages
  • Be a good communicator who is confident, and be happy to pick up the phone to someone
  • Work at pace with a good deal of energy and enthusiasm and be comfortable with a dynamic and changing environment,
  • Be able to quickly assimilate information from a number of sources,
  • Be comfortable in delivering high standard work to tight deadlines,
  • Be resilient in difficult situations e.g. you may be tasked with assisting in undertaking redundancy consultations,
  • Able to work effectively as part of a team,
  • Have a flexible and proactive approach

Overtime will be required from time-to-time (where overtime is agreed as required, this is paid), such overtime can be a short-notice due to the nature and immediacy of work
