Most R&D tax claims succeed or fail on two things: a clear technical story that helps the reader understand the R&D in plain English and an evidence file that demonstrates a comprehensive understanding of the tax rules. We’re scaling our R&D Tax team and hiring at Assistant Manager level to help us deliver excellent claim packages in our new merged scheme world and raise the bar of technical narrative quality.
You’ll work with clients across life sciences, software, manufacturing and engineering. Getting close to our clients and their exciting innovation and turning it into a claim that’s robust, well-evidenced, and enquiry-ready.
What you’ll do:
- Run smart interviews with competent professionals to download the technical detail and nuances.
- Write clear, structured project narratives that tell our clients' stories.
- Build and review our AI-powered cost schedules with clean logic, support and reconciliations.
- Assemble evidence packs that are easy to follow and stand up to scrutiny.
- Help us elevate delivery by making the client experience seamless but with a personal touch.
We’re open to:
We’re genuinely happy to speak to candidates who lean towards:
- Finance/Tax (claim building, tax rule analysis, wider CT experience)
- Technical writing (interviewing, structure, translating complexity)
- Hybrid (strong on both, or keen to become strong on both)
Why this team:
We’re a nimble, specialist team on an exciting growth trajectory with ownership of work can be hard to come by in different environments. This is a great fit for people who want closer client contact and work you can genuinely stand behind, and a team where you can shape how things are done, not just follow a playbook.
You’ll work directly with highly experienced R&D tax specialists (with many years of experience across firms of all sizes) and there’s real scope to develop quickly, take ownership early, and progress as the team expands. If you’ve got an entrepreneurial mindset (you spot improvements, you like building things, and you want your impact to be visible) we should talk!
