James Clague Architects, part of the Latchmere House Partnership, is seeking an Architect to join its team in Canterbury, Kent.
Responsibilities
- The role covers projects from concept through to completion.
- Work closely with James Clague (Managing Director) and the James Clague Architect team on all aspects of design to completion.
Qualifications and Skills
- At least 2 years’ post-Part 3 experience as a UK‑registered architect, with essential experience working on heritage, conservation, and listed building projects.
- Strong AutoCAD skills.
- Strong technical design skills, with experience preparing clear, accurate, and buildable drawing and construction packages.
- Good knowledge of UK Building Regulations, construction principles, and listed building/conservation requirements.
- Experience coordinating with consultants.
- Proactive, organised, and able to manage workload effectively with minimal supervision.
- Clear written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to work well with colleagues, consultants, and clients.
- Enthusiastic, detail‑focused, and motivated to develop professionally within a design‑led practice.
Contract & Salary
- Type of Contract: Permanent Full Time (UK based applicants only).
- Salary: Dependent on experience.
Location & Accessibility
- Applicants need to be local to the office (within about 30 miles) and have the use of a car, UK Driving Licence required.
