Our client, a growing business undergoing a major ERP transformation, is seeking a hands-on Finance Business Systems Analyst to join their ERP project team. This is a long-term contract role ideal for someone who combines strong finance process expertise with practical ERP implementation experience.

The Role

You will act as the bridge between the finance team and the ERP project, quickly understanding existing finance processes and translating them into clear business requirements for Microsoft Business Central. Working closely with Finance, IT, and the implementation partner, you will map current workflows, identify pain points, and support the design of future processes.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Analyse, document, and improve finance processes (AP, AR, GL, month-end, journals, reporting).
  • Capture and prioritise business requirements and support gap analysis.
  • Collaborate with the ERP vendor to design future-state processes aligned to best practice.
  • Support testing, training, and change impact activities.
  • Prepare clear documentation, process maps, SOPs, and RACI charts.

The Ideal Candidate

  • Proven experience as a Business Analyst on ERP or finance system projects (preferably Microsoft Business Central, Dynamics, NetSuite, SAP, or Sage).
  • Strong understanding of core finance processes and systems.
  • Skilled in process mapping, requirements gathering, and translating finance needs into actionable ERP specifications.
  • Excellent stakeholder management, communication, and facilitation skills.
  • Practical, hands-on approach with the ability to leverage limited SME time effectively.
