Up to £500 per day
Our client, a well-established organisation within the financial services and pensions sector, is looking for an experienced Infrastructure Engineer to join their IT team on an initial six-month contract, with a strong likelihood of extension.
This is a hands‑on role supporting and enhancing a hybrid Microsoft infrastructure, with a particular focus on Azure, automation and enterprise systems. Working as part of a collaborative infrastructure team, the successful candidate will help maintain business‑critical services, deliver infrastructure improvements and provide 3rd line technical expertise.
Key responsibilities include:
- Managing and supporting Azure and on‑premise infrastructure
- Automating infrastructure tasks and deployments using PowerShell and Infrastructure as Code principles
- Supporting Windows Server, Active Directory, Microsoft 365, virtualisation and networking technologies
- Contributing to infrastructure projects, system improvements and disaster recovery planning
- Ensuring secure, resilient and high‑performing IT services
To be considered, candidates should have:
- Strong experience supporting enterprise Microsoft infrastructure
- Excellent PowerShell scripting and automation skills
- Experience with Windows Server, Active Directory, Microsoft 365 and VMware or Hyper‑V
- Good understanding of networking, backup and disaster recovery
- Experience working within an ITIL environment
Experience with Azure DevOps, Infrastructure as Code, SCCM or Azure certifications would be advantageous.
