Join one of the UK’s leading SEO and digital PR agencies at an exciting stage of growth, where you’ll create high-quality content that helps ambitious brands earn visibility, build authority, and achieve meaningful results. We’re looking for a talented Content Writer to join Digitaloft’s content team. You’ll work across a varied range of client projects for ambitious brands, including Booking.com, Fresha, and JD Outdoors, producing SEO-focused content, supporting digital PR campaigns, and collaborating closely with strategists, PR specialists, and client delivery teams.

This is a role for someone who enjoys getting stuck into new subjects, can turn a brief into clear and engaging copy, and wants to keep developing their craft within a supportive, ambitious agency.

We’re looking for someone who…

  • Has proven experience producing high-quality written content across a range of formats, including landing pages, blog posts, long-form guides, campaign copy, thought leadership, and PR-led assets.
  • Can research unfamiliar or complex topics thoroughly, identify the most interesting angle, and turn findings into clear, accurate, engaging copy.
  • Understands the value of using AI tools thoughtfully to support research, planning, and quality assurance, while maintaining strong editorial judgement and taking responsibility for the final work.
  • Understands how to adapt their writing for different brands, audiences, industries, formats, and stages of the customer journey.
  • Has a solid grounding in SEO best practice, including search intent, keyword research, on-page optimisation, metadata, internal linking, and competitor analysis.
  • Has experience using tools such as Semrush, Ahrefs, Google Sheets, or similar platforms to support research and content planning.
  • Has strong proofreading and editing skills, with a careful eye for spelling, grammar, structure, accuracy, clarity, and consistency.
  • Has experience using content management systems to upload, format, and publish content.
  • Enjoys managing a varied workload across multiple clients and can move between topics and formats without compromising quality.
  • Takes feedback constructively, applies it to future work, and is motivated to keep developing their writing and strategic skills.
  • Keeps up to date with developments across content marketing, SEO, digital PR, media, and the wider digital landscape.
  • Works well as part of a collaborative team and is always willing to pitch in when colleagues need support.

The key responsibilities and tasks of the role are…

  • Research, write, edit, proofread, and optimise high-quality content across a varied portfolio of client accounts, taking ownership of tasks from brief through to delivery.
  • Adapt content for different brand voices, audiences, industries, formats, and commercial objectives, ensuring every piece is accurate, engaging, well-structured, and aligned with the brief.
  • Use AI tools responsibly and effectively to support research, planning, and content production, while applying sound judgement, fact-checking outputs, and ensuring all final work meets Digitaloft’s editorial, client, and strategic standards.
  • Conduct keyword research, competitor analysis, content gap analysis, and search intent research where relevant, using platforms such as Semrush, Ahrefs, and Google Search Console to identify opportunities to improve content visibility, relevance, and performance.
  • Play an active role in digital PR campaigns by researching topics, sourcing credible datasets, fact-checking claims, identifying trends, and helping develop clear, persuasive campaign narratives.
  • Upload, format, and quality-check content within client content management systems, as required, ensuring pages are presented accurately and in line with agreed briefs, SEO requirements, and brand guidance.
  • Work closely with SEO strategists, PR specialists, writers, and client delivery teams, contributing ideas during content planning, strategy discussions, ideation sessions, and campaign development.
  • Review and proofread work produced by other team members, providing constructive feedback on spelling, grammar, clarity, structure, tone of voice, and overall quality.
  • Manage your own workflow through the agency’s project management systems, keeping tasks up to date, meeting deadlines, and flagging capacity concerns, deadline risks, unclear briefs, or missing information early.
  • Keep your knowledge current through training, industry resources, agency learning opportunities, and regular engagement with developments across SEO, digital PR, and content marketing.

What we’ll offer you…

  • Salary: £26,500 + per year, depending on experience.
  • 28 days annual leave, plus bank holidays and a Christmas shutdown. With each completed year of service, your base entitlement will increase by 1 day, up to a maximum of 33 days.
  • A £1,000 annual training budget to attend conferences and workshops or develop your skill set in another way.
  • An agency-wide wellness programme, private health cash plan, and access to mental health first aider support.
  • Encouragement and support to speak at industry events and write for leading publications.
  • Opportunities to represent the agency at awards events across the globe.
  • Flexible working, including remote, office-based (in Kendal or Manchester), hybrid, and work-from-anywhere options.
  • An enhanced maternity and paternity package.
  • The opportunity to work alongside an ambitious, supportive team that cares about doing excellent work and helping each other grow.
