We are partnering with a forward-thinking organisation to appoint a Head of Cloud Platforms, a senior leadership role at the heart of their cloud and integration strategy.
You will take ownership of the Cloud Platform and Integration teams, defining the long-term technical roadmap and overseeing the day-to-day delivery of AWS and Azure environments, DevOps tooling, CI/CD pipelines, and systems integration. Working closely with software development, infrastructure, cyber security, and business stakeholders, you will align platform engineering with the wider digital strategy and act as a technical leader and mentor to your team.
What you will be doing:
- Leading and developing the Cloud Platform and Integration teams, driving collaboration and delivery
- Defining and implementing cloud architecture, automation strategies, and CI/CD pipelines across AWS, Azure, and M365
- Driving adoption of infrastructure-as-code (IaC) and automated deployment practices
- Overseeing systems integration across cloud, on-premises, and hybrid environments
- Leading incident response, disaster recovery planning, and BCP/DR testing
- Establishing KPIs and SLAs for platform availability, security, and uptime
- Leading security audits, risk assessments, and vulnerability management alongside the Cyber Security team
- Mentoring senior technical leads and supporting their professional growth
- Translating business requirements into scalable, secure technical solutions
- Evaluating emerging tools and technologies to drive efficiency and scalability
What we are looking for:
- Deep hands-on knowledge of AWS (EC2, VPC, RDS, S3, CloudFront, Route 53, IAM, CloudWatch, EKS) and Microsoft Azure
- Proven experience managing and delivering in multi-cloud environments
- Strong CI/CD and GitOps experience (Jenkins, Bitbucket, Terraform)
- Experience deploying and maintaining Linux systems (Ubuntu, CentOS, RHEL, Amazon Linux)
- Solid understanding of containerisation, Docker and Kubernetes
- Familiarity with middleware technologies including AWS SQS/SNS and API Gateway
- Scripting ability in Bash and/or Python
- A track record of leading technical teams and delivering clear direction
- Strong communication skills, comfortable engaging technical and non-technical audiences
