We are currently partnering with a leading housing association based in London, who are recruiting for a Head of Legal to join their growing team on a permanent basis. This is a full-time position with a salary of £98,000 and the start date is subject to notice.
Duties will include (but are not limited to):
- Develop and implement a new legal strategy for them, leading and managing the legal team to ensure key objectives are achieved.
- Review the overall structure of the service and scope of works delivered in house, creating a business case for investment and plan for the development of the service.
- Provide expert legal advice for the operational teams and the executive team on a range of legal matters and provide advice and training to operational colleagues.
- Oversight of cases where legal action is required, ensuring they are effectively managed to conclusion, minimising risks to the business and maintaining a customer focus and understanding through the process.
- Working with other senior leaders across the business to provide support and hold them accountable for meeting legal requirements.
Skills and experience required:
- Experience as a senior in-house Lawyer within a housing association or local authority.
- Up to date knowledge of housing law and legislation, including disrepair, possession actions, anti-social behaviour and tenancy enforcement.
- Qualified Solicitor, Barrister or Lawyer with significant post qualification experience.

Working hours:
- 37 hours per week.
- Monday – Friday, 9am-5pm.
