We are recruiting a Senior SEN Lawyer with management responsibilities to join a growing Legal Firm working on behalf of local authorities based in the East Midlands. This is a full‑time position with a salary band of £52,000 to £60,000 (subject to experience) and a locum role is negotiable on experience.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage a team of paralegals (and, where applicable, Trainee Solicitors and newly qualified lawyers).
  • Provide professional legal services to public sector and not‑for‑profit clients regarding Special Educational Needs and education.
  • Manage a complex caseload, mainly SEN Tribunal cases, with minimal supervision.
  • Attend client liaison meetings to discuss ongoing cases and ensure high‑quality service.
  • Advocate in case‑management hearings and final hearings in the First‑tier SEND Tribunal and instruct counsel as appropriate.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Experience of SEN court and Tribunal procedures.
  • Experience of conducting complex caseloads.
  • Ability to conduct legal research, interpret legislation and summarise key points of case law.

  • Monday – Friday, 9am – 5pm.
