We are currently working in partnership with a Local Government who are recruiting for a Committee Services Manager on a three-month temporary contract. This is a London-based position on a full-time contract of 35 hours per week. This organisation is offering this as a remote role that requires just two days a week in the office, with a negotiable rate dependent on experience.
Duties will include (but are not limited to):
- Managing a team of six officers, responsible for staff appraisals, performance reviews, and one-to-ones, as well as setting priorities and delegating tasks
- Overseeing and covering the senior members and committee meetings, including coordinating the planning, preparation, and execution of meetings
- Advising on constitutional matters and scrutiny acting as the primary point of contact for constitutional queries, ensuring that all advice is legally sound, clearly communicated and aligned with council policy and governance frameworks
- Dealing with senior members and key stakeholders, as well as working closely with the Monitoring officer and reporting directly into the Director of Assurance

- Management experience within a Local authority
- Ability to lead and manage a team/workload effectively
Working hours:
- Full time (35 hours a week)
- Monday to Friday
