Our client is seeking an experienced HR Business Partner – Change Management on an 18 month fixed term contract on a project role, acting as the expert with regards to people related matters for an organisation wide reorganisation. Working alongside and advising SLT in a unionised, complex education establishment. The role pays up to £67,000 per annum with generous benefits, is based in West Midlands and offers 3 days working from home per week.

The suitable candidate must be a Change specialist who has worked collaboratively on large scale re-organisations from end to end and has the gravitas to advise Senior Leadership on people related matters. Duties will include (but are not limited to):

  • Working with the HRSLT (HR Senior Leadership Team) and wider HR team to manage and support the key HR workstreams to drive the strategic change programme.
  • Providing key capability in stakeholder management, project management and organisational design to help senior stakeholders shape their plans and ideas in pursuit of organisations key change activity.
  • Provide expert advice on people strategy, to include; workforce planning, leadership capability and talent management.
  • Lead OD initiatives that enhance team development, culture change and continuous improvement, aligned with the broader OD agenda.
  • Working with Institutional Project leads and senior members of the services to identify and shape the strategic direction, operational plans, and key deliverables for the Change project.
  • This will require you to use your expert judgement to make key decisions for the project.
  • Research external sources to inform the project choices, resources, and best practice, using your substantial expertise to influence the direction of the project(s).
  • Develop internal and external networks with key and senior stakeholders, partners and the wider community.
  • Actively manage the day-to-day operational and tactical aspects of multiple large-scale people projects to mitigate and minimise risk.
  • Produce high quality written reports and analysis and present to a range of audiences including the University senior governance groups.
  • Responsible for delivering the projects on time, to budget and to the standard you have scoped out and agreed.
  • Engage with key stakeholders during the project (which could include Executive Board members, project boards, senior professional services leaders).
  • Promote and communicate the project(s) and their importance to appropriate audiences.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant legislation, codes of practice and University policies and procedures.
  • Work with stakeholders (including HR colleagues) to define project objectives, terms of reference and deliverables.
  • Develop and implement a culture (including policies and procedures) that promotes and incorporates Equality and values diversity and inclusion.

Experience required:

  • Substantial HR experience, covering Employee Relations, Employment Law, Workforce Strategy and Planning, Trade Union and Employee Engagement and HR Risk Management.
  • Organisational Design and Development Experience (including understanding of professional based theories/models).
  • Change Management on an organisation wide scale, reorganisation.
