We are currently working in partnership with a Local Authority in Somerset who are recruiting for a Senior Estates Surveyor on a six-month contract. This is an interim position, paid on an hourly basis with an hourly rate of £60.67 per hour. The role will be paid via an Umbrella Company, and the client has listed this position as an urgent requirement.
The ideal candidate will have extensive experience dealing with acquisitions and disposals, while holding a membership with a professional body such as RICS.
Duties will include (but are not limited to):
- Delivering property transfer and disposal programmes in line with statutory and governance requirements
- Supporting the delivery of the organisation's Strategic Asset Management Plan, ensuring assets are aligned to service delivery needs
- Contributing to asset class reviews and the development of asset strategies across the portfolio
- Undertaking options appraisals for community and surplus properties, informed by feasibility and viability assessment
- Developing robust business cases to support financially sustainable property solutions aligned with organisational priorities
- Overseeing and progressing property transfers and disposals efficiently, while ensuring due process and compliance are followed
- Preparing heads of terms and instructing legal teams on property transactions, including sales, leases, and transfers
Experience/Qualifications required:
- Educated to degree level or equivalent in a relevant field
- Demonstrable experience in estate management, with particular expertise in asset transfers and disposals
- Chartered status (MRICS or Associate)
Working hours: 35 hours per week, Monday - Friday, Flexible Start/Finish Times.
