We are currently partnering a Local Authority in the South-West, in their recruitment for a Planning & Highways Lawyer on a locum basis for an initial 3-month contract. The team are ideally looking for someone to undertake full-time hours (37), and the rate is between £50 - £60 per hour (negotiable subject to PQE). The role is based predominantly from home, with cover of one planning committee per month in the South West.
Duties will include (but are not limited to):
- Managing a varied caseload of planning matters, including s106 and s278 agreements
- Attending meetings and advising Council Officers and Members in regards to legal issues, governance and procedure
- Independently managing and progressing key planning cases, including S.106s and deeds of variations
- Drafting and advising s.106 agreements, CIL, certificates of lawful use and advising on other planning related matters
Requirements:
- Qualified Solicitor
- Experience working within a local authority
Working hours: Up to 37-hours per week
