We are currently working in partnership with our client, a well-established property and construction consultancy based in Sidcup , who are recruiting for a
Building Surveyor on a permanent basis.
Depending on experience, the salary guide is
£45,000 - £55,000 per annum, with a good benefits package included. The ideal candidate will have strong Building Surveying experience , with previous exposure to public sector projects.
The successful candidate will play an active role in the delivery of projects and professional services across London and the South East, working with a wide range of public and private sector clients.
Projects will include education, residential, public and community buildings, with strong links to Local Authorities, County Councils and Housing Associations.
Duties will include (but are not limited to)
- Preparing schedules and specifications
- Preparing tender documentation and contract documentation
- Undertaking Contract Administration duties and Employer’s Agent duties
- Carrying out building condition surveys
- Defect analysis and preparation of formal reports
- Preparing and submitting building regulations applications
- Preparing and submitting planning applications
- Managing a varied portfolio of projects, including education schemes from primary schools through to universities and SEN schools
- Working on local authority residential projects, including new builds and refurbishments
- Working on a range of refurbishment projects, including recently appointed theatre refurbishment schemes
- Supporting projects involving the upgrade of playgrounds and outdoor spaces for local authority clients
- Working across emerging retrofit and cladding opportunities, where relevant experience would be advantageous
- Supporting the delivery of projects across London and the South East
Experience required
- Strong Building Surveying experience
- Experience in scheduling and specification writing
- Experience preparing tender documentation and contracts
- Experience undertaking Contract Administration and Employer’s Agent duties
- Experience carrying out building condition surveys and measured surveys
- Experience in defect analysis and formal report writing
- Experience with building regulations and planning applications
- Previous experience working with public sector clients is desirable
- Experience working with Local Authorities, County Councils and Housing Associations is desirable
- Experience of aids and adaptations is desirable
- Experience of party wall matters is desirable
- Experience undertaking DDA audits is desirable
- Auto CAD proficiency is desirable
- Good knowledge of CDM regulations
- MRICS qualification or working towards MRICS status is preferred
- Full UK driving licence and access to a car is desirable

Working hours
