We are currently seeking an HR Assistant to join a well-established financial services organisation in Shrewsbury on a permanent basis. This is a full-time position (37.5 hours per week) offering a salary of up to £30,000 per annum, depending on experience. This is an excellent opportunity for an ambitious HR professional looking to develop their career within a professional services environment. Working as part of a supportive HR team, you will play a key role in delivering efficient HR administration, ensuring compliance with employment legislation and company policies, and supporting a positive employee experience across the business.
Key Duties:
- Acting as the first point of contact for HR queries, providing professional guidance to employees and managers while supporting performance reviews, probation processes, wellbeing initiatives and CSR activities.
- Supporting end-to-end recruitment activities, including vacancy advertising, CV screening, interview coordination, reference checking and onboarding of new employees.
- Maintaining accurate employee records and HR systems, ensuring data integrity, compliance and effective HR administration.
- Preparing employment documentation, including contracts, offer letters and policy updates, supporting a positive employee experience.
- Administering absence management, holiday tracking and HRIS processes, providing timely support to employees and managers.
- Coordinating learning and development initiatives, supporting trainee programmes, CPD tracking and the delivery of internal training opportunities.
Experience Required:
- At least 2 years' experience in an HR Assistant, HR Administrator or similar role.
- Good understanding of UK employment law and HR best practice.
- Strong organisational skills with excellent attention to detail.
- Confident communicator with strong written and verbal skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office; HRIS experience is advantageous.
- Able to handle confidential information with discretion and professionalism.
- CIPD Level 3 qualified (or working towards) is desirable.
- Proactive, positive and keen to develop a career in HR.
